Environment, Space, Civil Aviation and Private International Law Unit

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
 
  1. Providing legal advice to the Government of Malaysia on matters relating to environment, space, civil aviation and private international law matters to the Government of Malaysia with a view to protect national interest.
  2. Carry out study and research in relation to legal issues pertaining to environment, space, civil aviation, and private international law.
  3. Drafting and/or vetting of domestic legislation for the implementation of Malaysia’s obligations under a treaty/international instrument pertaining to environment, space, civil aviation, and private international law.
  4. Attend seminars, workshops, meetings, discussions or negotiations, at domestic and international level, in particular negotiations on the proposal to develop a treaty or an international document pertaining to environment, space, civil aviation, and private international law.
  5. To act as the coordinator for the Attorney General’s Chambers which was appointed as the national organ for purposes of dealing with any matters pertaining to Malaysia’s membership in the Hague Conference / Conférence de la Haye (Hague Conference on Private International Law) (HCCH).
