    The Honourable Datuk Idrus bin Harun
    • Datuk Idrus bin Harun was appointed as the sixteenth Solicitor General of Malaysia on 27 April 2006.
    • Datuk Idrus obtained LLB(Hons) from University of Malaya. He was born on 2 February 1955 in Kg. Sanglang, Alor Setar, Kedah.
    • Datuk Idrus joined the Judicial and Legal Service on 3 April 1980 as a legal officer and was immediately posted as an Assistant Parliamentary Draftsman in the Attorney General’s Chambers.
    • On 15 September 1983, he was appointed Senior Assistant Registrar of the Commercial Division of High Court Kuala Lumpur and on 1 August 1984 he was transferred to Kota Kinabalu Sabah as President/Judge of the Sessions Court.
    • He subsequently became a Deputy Public Prosecutor with Royal Customs & Excise Department on 1 Jun 1990. Between 1992 and 1993 Datuk Idrus was the Head of the Prosecution Unit of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Deputy Public Prosecutor in the Prosecution Division of the Attorney General’s Chambers.
    • On 1 August 1993 he was appointed as the State Legal Advisor for Terengganu. Subsequently in September 1995 he was appointed as Senior Federal Counsel for the Election Commission and in 1996 as Senior Federal Counsel for the Anti-Corruption Agency.
    • He was appointed as Deputy Head of Advisory and International Division from 1997 to 1998.
    • On 1 October 1998 Datuk Idrus was appointed as Registrar of Companies of Malaysia. He then became the Head of Advisory and International Division from 15 February 2002 to 31 August 2004.
    • He was next appointed as Parliamentary Draftsman from 1 September 2004 until his appointment as the Solicitor General.

    Bodies and Committees
    In April 1997 Datuk Idrus was conferred with Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Terengganu (DPMT) by His Royal Highness Sultan of Terengganu Darul Iman which carries the title Dato’. Datuk Idrus was given a Fellowship Award by the Malaysian Institute of Directors on 18 October 2000.

    On 21 January 2007 Datuk Idrus was conferred with Dato' Setia DiRaja Kedah (DSDK) by His Royal Highness Sultan of Kedah which also carries the title Dato'. On 4 June 2007 he was conferred with Panglima Jasa Negara by His Royal Highness Yang DiPertuan Agong which carries the title Datuk.
