    The circle atop the weighing scale represents the unity and commitment of officers of the Attorney General’s Chambers in striving for professionalism and excellence in the discharge of their duties.

    The balanced weighing scale symbolizes the fair and impartial policy adhered to by Chambers in ensuring equal protection and justice under the law.

    The central fluid pillars denote the innovative, proactive and resourceful spirit of Chambers’ officers in meeting the challenges of an evolving legal environment.

    The five lines under girding the weighing scale represent the tenets of the Rukun Negara which are embodied in the work culture of Chambers.

    The colour blue signifies the espirit de corp of its officers while the colour white signifies the transparency, integrity and dignity of its officers in safeguarding and promoting the proper administration of justice.

     

    Objective

     

    To provide legal services of the highest quality, efficiently, fairly and equitably in accordance with the Constitution and laws.

     

    Functions

     

    • To give legal advise and views to the Malaysian Government in accordance with the international law and principles taking into account the policy of Malaysian Government , public policy, interest and domestic laws.
    • To Advise the Federal and State Government on all legal matters including syariah laws..
    • To draft all legislation for the Federal Government.
    • To provide prosecution instructions to all related law enforcement agencies for criminal cases.
    • To represent the Government in civil cases.
    • To revise and reprint the laws of Malaysia and to undertake law reform in identified areas.
