Objective

To give efficient and quality legal advice in accordance to the law in a fair and just manner

Functions

Source of reference and legal advise specially on Fisheries Act 1985 [Act 317] and international law.
To determine type of offences and compound, to conduct prosecution in Magistrate Courts and to conduct appeals, applications, revisions and judicial review in the High Court relating to arrest case under the Fisheries Act 1985 [Act 317].
To draft and vets agreement, memorandum of understanding between Department Of Fisheries and interested parties
To draft and vets Bills and regulations related to fisheries for tabling in Parliament or Minister approval.
To plan, coordinate or to conduct skill training, courses and lectures relating to fisheries law.
To carry out audit on prosecution cases, compound, management and disposal of exhibits and Investigation Papers.
To take part in any programs which related to fisheries legal aspects.
